Our story

Born in the Depression. Built to last.

Muskegon, Michigan.
1931 to today.Same hometown for 95 years.

In 1931, in the depths of the Great Depression, the American Grease Stick Company opened its doors in Muskegon, Michigan. Money was tight and nothing got wasted, so the first product had to earn its keep: a clean, stainless stick lubricant you could carry like a pencil and use like a crayon. It sold for a dime.

That stick was Door-Ease, and it stopped squeaks and sticking on car doors, hood lacings, windows and drawers across the country and into Canada. Its shop-mate, Ru-Glyde® rubber lubricant, is still on shelves today. Our name got shorter. The habit of building a better fix never changed.

Today AGS is the go-to source for brake, fuel and transmission line repair, from a simple line splice to a full system replacement. DIYers and professional technicians alike count on our tubing, fittings, specialty lubricants and chemicals, backed by real people who answer the phone.
